On this date in 2008, the Twins announced that they struck new deals with Justin Morneau and Michael Cuddyer to keep them in Minnesota long-term. Morneau, the 2006 AL MVP, got the richest deal in franchise history at the time with a six-year, $80MM pact. Cuddyer, meanwhile, got $24MM over three seasons.
